The Jewish Museum of Franconia is governed by an association founded in 1990 and constituted by the following bodies: the Middle Franconia Foundation, the Fürth Municipality, the Nuremberg Rural District Council and the Market-Town of Schnaittach.

The two sites in Fürth and Schnaittach offer ideal conditions for the realisation of a comprehensive museum project. In Schnaittach the surviving Judaica collection and the impressive synagogue complex enable the visitor to appreciate in large degree the nature of Jewish rural life. The museum in Fürth takes as its theme not merely the history and culture of the Jews of Fürth and Franconia but in addition the present and the future life of the community. Not only is the museum an exhibition center but its varied facilities and features offers meeting for encounter, dialogue and study.
